The Christian town of Rim in the Riyom local government area of Plateau state is currently under attack by unknown gunmen.
Two people are confirmed dead. Please pray NOW for our brothers and sisters; that they will know the presence of God and his protection.
This attack is just the latest on Christian villages in Plateau this week.
Our partners report that suspected Fulani herdsmen raided Rakung village in the Barkin Ladi area of Plateau and were ‘terrorising the area’. Two children are reported to have been killed, ‘gunned down on their way to school’, and farmers have been forced off their land.
On Monday, gunmen raided four other villages in the same area, killing many people and burning down property. Nigerian newspaper Leadership puts the death toll in two villages at 30 and says that the dead included a woman, Paulina, who was married just two weeks ago and a Church of Christ in Nigeria pastor, Luka Gwom.
Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Plateau, some of whom are living in constant fear of attack. Pray that God will give them peace. Pray that the Nigerian authorities will do more to protect vulnerable Christian villages from armed groups.
