Christians may soon be prohibited from participating in church services and other religious activities in Nepal after the predominantly Hindu nation adopted a new Constitution on Monday. According to a story by World Watch Monitor (WWM), attempting to convert someone to another religion is already prohibited in Nepal, but the proposed amendments would mean that anything perceived as “evangelistic” could be punishable by law.
- Pray that Nepal’s amended charter that contains provisions to address secularism, will not pave the way for an “anti-conversion clause” to be written in the penal code
Pray that God would place Godly leaders in Nepal’s government to represent members of minority religions who have little political and economic clout
Pray for the protection of Christians who could be punished for holding church services
Praise God for the result!
